Dive Insight:
Although Ceterix’s technology is currently used by only 100 physicians nationwide, the company says its products represent a breakthrough for arthroscopic procedures on the hip, knee and shoulders. Their technology allows surgeons to work in very tight joint spaces and results in stronger sutures than other methods, making it especially useful for meniscus repair, the most common arthroscopic procedure in the U.S. There are over 1 million meniscus repairs each year, and Cetirix looks to expand use of its tools for this procedure, using its most recent capital infusion.
