Dive Brief:
- A group of theater writers are trying to raise money for a musical about Martin Shkreli, the so-called "pharma bro."
- The musical will focus on Shkreli’s purchase last year of a Wu-Tang Clan album for $2 million, the New York Post reported.
- Shkreli has been offering various tongue-in-cheek 'suggestions' for the musical via Twitter.
Dive Insight:
The Post claims the satirical play, only about an hour long, will premiere July 19 at the Midtown International Film Festival in New York. It quotes Lauren Gundrum, purportedly the show’s lyricist, as saying the obvious: "“Shkreli’s just such an interesting character."
Shkreli has some of his own "ideas" and he has shared them, as is his wont, on Twitter:
I have a new idea for the musical where I come out with my guitar and play Creed's "Higher" and it's super sweet.

I will reluctantly star in and fund this new musical @shkrelisgame. Sorry all of you Broadway bros but my time is now.

Yahoo Finance reports that auditions are being held. And, of course, there's a website.
