Dr. Emadi is the Alexander Bland Osborn Endowed Chair and Distinguished Professor of Medical Oncology at the West Virginia University School of Medicine & Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center. He also serves as physician-in-chief for Medical Oncology at the West Virginia University Health System & WVU Medicine, as well as the Associate Director for Clinical Research at the WVU Cancer Institute. Prior to joining WVU, Dr. Emadi was a professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he served as the Associate Director for Clinical Research and the Director of Translational Genomics Laboratory. Over the course of his career, Dr. Emadi has been the author, co-author, or editor of nearly 200 research articles, presentations in national and international scientific meetings, book chapters, and three fully illustrated books, including a unique cancer pharmacology textbook.
Dr. Emadi graduated from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1996. He earned a PhD in organic chemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2004. He then completed an internship at University of Kentucky School of Medicine, followed by a residency at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He also completed a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.
