Quintiles acquires Encore Health Services
- Approximately 300 workers from Encore will join the 29,000-plus people who work for Quintiles throughout the world.

One of the major factors driving the acquisition of Encore by Quintiles is the former’s depth of experience in the area of electronic health records (EHRs). Regarding the acquisition, Tom Price, chief executive officer at Quintiles, said, “Today’s announcement signifies the increasing importance of leveraging EHR and real-world information to inform our customers and improve their probability of success.” According to information from healthit.gov, 75% of providers report that their EHR allows them to deliver better overall care. EHRs can also reduce errors and improve patient safety and support.
